About
Namaste Indian Food in Kapaʻa, Hawaiʻi, stands out as a hidden gem for lovers of authentic Indian cuisine. Nestled conveniently along Kuhio Highway near Noka Beach access, this food truck offers an inviting blend of delicious flavors, generous portions, and warm hospitality.
What truly makes Namaste Indian Food exceptional is the expertise behind its kitchen. The chef, once head chef and part owner of another Indian restaurant in the area, brings a depth of skill and tradition that permeates every dish. Reviewers consistently praise the flavorful Tikka Masala, fresh and comforting Butter Chicken, and vibrant vegetarian options like Palak Paneer and vegetable curry. The meals arrive hot, accompanied by fragrant basmati rice and fresh naan, enough to satisfy groups of three — great for a shared, communal experience.
The atmosphere adds a unique charm, with beachside seating under covered canopies, perfect for enjoying a meal after a day of hiking or beach activities. Despite its casual setup, the service is heartfelt and personal; customers often note the chef’s politeness and generosity, even going the extra mile to replace dropped orders free of charge. Unlike many take-out joints, you eat first and pay later, which creates a relaxed and trusting vibe.
Beyond the food, the affordability relative to portion size impresses many. While some dishes can run around $20 each, the amount of food served is more than fair for the price. The spiced Masala chai also receives special mention, offering a soothing complement to the rich flavors of the main courses.
Namaste Indian Food captures the essence of traditional Indian cuisine with fresh ingredients, bold spices, and heartwarming service, making it a must-visit for locals and travelers on Kauaʻi alike. Whether savoring a mild, flavorful meal post-hike or indulging in robust, spicy curries by the beach, this place leaves a lasting impression for its taste and genuine aloha spirit.
“ We were surprised at the high quality food. The Chef was very polite, usually you pay first and then they provide take out. Here we ate and then paid. There are benches with covered canopy, lot of good veg options. We had gone hiking and on our way back from Princeville saw this and stopped. Just to be on the safe side we ordered everything mild and it was quiet tasty. ”
“ I have had only good experiences here. Beach side dining is a plus! The food is affordable and tasty. The spiced tea gives me great comfort. Cash only transactions ”
“ Excellent food and service everything comes out hot with a tray. Portions are huge and the dishes come with basmati rice one serving is enough for 3 people to share. We ended up getting 3 dishes plus masala chai for 3 for about $50 which is not bad for the amount of food you get. Noka Beach Access with parking. The sign is small and we actually passed it up and parked across the street. I took a pic of the sign so people know to look for it. Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo channa curry were delicious. The masala chai was excellent as well. Great Vegetarian options as well. Very authentic street style food. There are a few tables set up to wait or eat at. Just past the gates is access to the beach. You do pay after you eat and that is a practice that is followed in India as well so not that out of the blue, but the prices were not marked anywhere (you can always ask the guy how much things cost before placing an order) Most items were around $10/$12. There are port-a-potties a little distance away as well. ”
“ Best Indian food I’ve had! The food was terrific!! Good portions and great quality! The prices weren’t displayed but I’d say expect about $20 a plate… we got butter chicken and chicken tikka masala with a side of naan for $57. A bit pricy but we said it was absolutely worth it! If you want Indian I’d say go here 100%! ”
“ Namaste has the best Indian food on Kaua'i. The chef used to be the head chef and part owner of another Indian restaurant before a falling out. He took all his recipes and expertise with him to Namaste, where his food surpasses all other Indian options on the island. His Tikka Masala sauce is the most delicious I have tasted anywhere. Everything he makes is fresh, hot, and filled with flavor. We have tried almost all of his dishes, and we can recommend the Fish Tikka Masala, the Lamb Rogan Josh, and the Chana Palak (chickpeas with spinach). The other food establishments in his area have failed or moved on, but he's still here because his food is THAT GOOD. ”
